Mr Adam Gilchrist AC
Adam Gilchrist is a former Australian cricketer and captain of all formats, with an international playing career spanning almost two decades. He is widely considered the greatest wicket-keeper-batsman in the history of the game.
Throughout his playing career and since his retirement from international cricket in 2008, Adam has performed a number of ambassadorial roles for various corporations, government entities and charities both nationally and internationally. In 2004, he was appointed a non-executive director of Travelex Australasia – a position he held for five years.
In 2008, Adam was appointed Chairperson of the Australia Day Council, with responsibility for the statutory body in charge of all matters relating to the annual Australia Day celebrations. Adam is also currently the patron of Ronald McDonald House, Western Australia and is a World Vision ambassador, where he works closely with the organisation’s various projects operating throughout India and the sub-continent.
