Lenore Taylor

Lenore is editor of Guardian Australia. She has led Guardian Australia through turbulent times dominated by ongoing threats to the business model of journalism. Lenore has helped launch a series of measures to help the edition become a sustainable business and improve the future of public interest journalism in Australia via reader contributions, crowdfunding environment reporting and establishing the Guardian Civic Journalism Trust in partnership with with the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Advancing Journalism. She has worked at Guardian Australia since its launch in May 2013, when she joined as the outlet’s political editor. Lenore has been honoured with two Walkley Awards, twice won the Paul Lyneham Award for excellence in press gallery journalism and co-authored a book, Shitstorm, on the Rudd government’s response to the global economic crisis. Lenore is a formidable commentator on the Australian political landscape and has long been a regular guest on radio and television current affairs programs, including the ABC’s Insiders.
