Bridget Archer MP was shortlisted for the 2022 McKinnon Political Leader of the Year for her demonstrated commitment to her electorate and the values of integrity and trust in the business of governance and political representation.

The Shortlisting Committee noted Archer’s consistent commitment to, and representation of, her classical liberal values across a variety of issues. The Committee recognised Archer’s courage in crossing the floor on matters important to her electorate – in particular to support the Albanese government’s emissions reduction target. The Committee acknowledged her collaboration with Helen Haines to push for debate on a National Anti-Corruption Commission and commended her focus on the restoration of trust in both politicians and the political process.
